Happy Home Thanks to You!

In front of my latest indoor mural, inspired by the architecture of Jaipur

Thank you dear friends for coming to visit my studio and my home at my recent Open Studio Tour! It was such a joy to welcome you and share my happy space and latest creations, including my latest mural pictured above! I look forward to hosting you all again soon in the coming months - stay tuned!

Artwork Spotlight

These skunks teach me to be who I really want to be, despite my own limiting thoughts or my assumption of the thoughts of others. We are more than our background, than our job title, than our self-imposed identities. Inspired by the arcade claw game I could never quite master, Sal and Sam here take on the challenge of going after perfume, and shifting the narrative they’ve always known.

Sending Love Through the Mail

Maybe we’re not all rushing to the mall, as we cozy up at home this Spring Break, but myself and other small businesses are so grateful for your continued support. You can shop my latest collection of scarves online, as well as my Art Book, from the coziness of your home. A great way to mail some love to a friend, or to yourself. This scarf, based on my painting, “Cats and Dogs” is inspired by rainy days and how we can choose positive outlooks while we wait for discomfort to pass.

Rising Stars

Thank you friends for sending all your cheer and sharing in my excitement over my Fashion Group International, Rising Star nomination! It was such a beautiful - and colorful! - event, and I was so honored to be included among the three Art and Design finalists! Many congrats to the big winners!

The 2020 Rising Star Awards, held February 25th at The Statler in Dallas

My favorite words from the night came from Terri Provencal, Publisher and Editor in Chief of Patron Magazine,

"… art invigorates and empowers the soul. Art defines movements, moments, history, culture and fashion. Art heals, art remembers… and lasts. Art is for everybody!”

Art and Color Exhibit

On February 20th, I had the honor of joining 24 artists to exhibit our work for the Thrift Studio Art and Color Party, benefiting Dwell with Dignity. I owe so much of my start as an artist to Dwell with Dignity, as they served as the motivation for me to keep exploring painting (I share more about that in this video).

I’m so pleased to donate a piece I created just for this cause. We’ll keep you posted on the date for Thrift Studio 2020, where this painting, “Hindsight is 20/20” will be available for purchase, with ALL proceeds benefiting Dwell with Dignity’s mission to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty.

Just Leap

I recently adventured to my heaven on earth, the desert of Arizona! In my 4th annual solo vacation, I pushed myself to new heights! I describe the epiphanies gained while 35 feet in the air on my latest Neon Mione Blog post. Thanks for facing those fears right along with me, every day!
